O Museu Temporário Andy Warhol é um espaço cultural dentro de um espaço comercial em Lisboa, e foi concebido para acolher a exposição "Andy Warhol - Icons | obras Psaier e a Factory". O museu recria um ambiente entre o pop e o industrial, através da materialidade invulgar que resulta da utilização de latas metálicas de tinta. O interior foi desenhado como um espaço fechado e introspectivo, limitado por paredes contínuas. A transparência da cobertura de plástico permite a entrada de luz natural e assegura a relação visual entre dois espaços que se confrontam - o museu e o centro comercial. À imagem das obras de Andy Warhol, o museu reflete (literalmente!) a sociedade de consumo no alumínio das latas cilíndricas. O espaço evoca também dois outros aspetos da obra de Andy Warhol: a repetição, através da serigrafia, e a ideia de pegar em objetos do cotidiano, independentemente da sua forma ou função original, e transformá-los em ícones do imaginário coletivo.

 

The Andy Warhol Temporary Museum is a cultural space within a commercial space in Lisbon, designed to host the exhibition "Andy Warhol – Icons | Psaier Artworks and the Factory". The museum recreates an environment that is both pop and industrial, through an unusual materiality resulting from the use of metal paint cans. The interior was conceived as an enclosed introspective space, entirely defined by continuous walls. A transparent cover in plastic screen allows light to enter from the exterior and assures the visual relationship between two confronting spaces – museum and shopping mall. Like Andy Warhol’s artworks, the museum reflects (literally) the consumer society, through the aluminium of cylindrical cans. The space also evokes other aspects of Andy Warhol's work – repetition, through the silkscreen, and the idea of taking everyday objects, regardless of their original form or function, and transforming them into icons of the collective imaginary.
